I actually prefer this style to the more "painterly" from Witchblade and earlier issues. For comic books, I find it easier on the eye and the expressions are more distinct. I first found you through Death Vigil so I suppose that's also a reason I like it so much.
Your work on Witchblade brought comic art to a whole new level. I read something once from Top Cow that you’re one of the few comic artist who never missed a deadline. You’ve raised the bar so high that most will never come close to what you do.
According to Aphrodite IX issue 6, there were “criticism” that comic style lettering was not matching your previous photo realistic style of painting.
WHAT THE HELL?
Not compatible? It was good enough for your entire run on Witchblade and beyond!!!
Not to be disrespectful, but this new style seems to be a step back. The letterer should be stepping up and creating something new to match your art, not the other way around. Your previous style was so phenomenal and unique that I didn’t even recognize you were the same artist who illustrated Kade until I saw it here in your dA gallery.
If you’re having fun with this new style, great. You’ve earned it. Personally, I hope you go back to the more realistic 3D look. I have been buying comic books for your art more than for the story.
What are those things? They look like sharper versions of those robots from matrix, nice motion capture and I really like this small flame on her foot, something so small gives such a big feeling of force, I expect the robot to fly to the ground. I like her style and clothing, they are not skimpy and that's how they should be and finally my only problem, her facial expression, in a scene like this she should shout a battle cry not ...what she is doing (is she concerned about someone in the line of fire?).
