Since Aqm's got long blond hair and holds a trident, and sat in a similar pose on a throne--I forget if the back was shell-shaped or just generally sea-themed--it looks similar enough to make me blink, but not enough to be either ripoff or "tribute" enough to be a problem.
If you happen to know anyone who remembers lots of DC covers of that general era, you can always check with him; unfortunately, none of my current friends are real DC fans, and they're a little too young as well. Aaargh!
So anyway, feel free to ignore me.

ANYway. It's a great pic, and as I said, I doubt it'd be a problem even if a few other readers remembered the Aquaman pic; it's a mild resemblance rather than a close cousin.

I'm a body painter and I've been waiting forever to attempt recreating this character in the flesh. I finally found the perfect model and we'll be giving it a go at IMATS Pasadena in january! I hope that i can do the image justice!
