just wondering...splurt....bwahahahahahahahahah by nebezial just wondering...splurt....bwahahahahahahahahah by nebezial
so  about a very frequently asked question... how do is do the expressions...

well, on one side it has been a long arduous process of understanding things that happen under the skin  , the way muscles work to wrinkle and fold it...

but ultimately it comes down to this.. reason why i can now do them... and i say now because  this was not the case about 2 years ago...

is that it clicked and i started thinking like an animator while  retaining the realism whenever and wherever possible.

so now, expressions, gesticulation and momentum of motion are my focus to master. :)

aye, thick enough to not be a stick, and yet thin enough not to be an hulking she-thing.

I love your interpretation of Wonder Woman.  The broad shouldered look just fits her more in my mind.

The web is full of amazing references like this, illustrating perfectly how Diana is supposed to look and feel...

...yet they cast scrawny, straw-armed fashion model as Wonder Woman in the cinematic universe. *sigh*

I'm awe struck, her arms are magnificent, she is so beautiful.

Love it.
I really like that she has defined curves, but her waist isn't a stick! :D She feels more human like this to be honest :3

I love your take on Wonder Woman.   Most artists draw their super women, or warrior maids or whatever, with skinny arms and tiny waists.

This version of Wonder Woman, looks like she can punch so hard you'd feel it a week before it hit you.

Bottom right second one... Can't tell if she's gone off the deep end or something sexual. Ether way, wow. You are a wonderful artist.

the bottom-right corner, I'm sorry, but I can't help but think that's her reaction to first seeing a penis.

I just adore how you drew Diana here. Not a lot of artists really embrace the fierce strong warrior aspect of her when they draw her.

The only sketch I'm not too wild about is the "Oh my gods!" One. Something about it seems off.

Otherwise it's all beautiful.

I love the Xena look! She is Beautiful, Strong and Intimidating so of course she is perfect.

Is that a transvestite dredged up like wonderwomen? Just curious lol
D-A-E Featured By Owner Mar 30, 2015  Hobbyist Artist
No. She's an Amazonian. If you follow your Greek Lore, the Amazons were a race of women that did not adhere to the constraints of Men. They were a warrioristic/nomadic society that was primarily ruled under Queen Hippolyta. Now, the backstory for Diana sort of wiffle-waffles from Greek Lore, but that's the basic backstory. Historically and according to myth, the Amazons were portrayed as muscular women who could stand on par with men. If you've ever seen the ideal Greek physique- then she's perfect.

Were Amazonians a real thing? Possibly, they were more based off the Scythians.… <=== Here's the article from the Smithsonian.

Now, as for your transvestite comment? That was rather nasty. First off, there's not a damn thing wrong with a transvestite. People have the freedom to dress and act how they want as long as there is no violence committed against anyone. Secondly? Wonderwoman was modeled after the Goddess Diana, who is the Roman counterpart of the Greek Goddess Artemis, who never married and was a warrior/huntress.

It makes perfect sense that she'd be toned and buff. After all, she doesn't have the crutch of super-strength like Superman, or the comparative gadgets to solve his problems like Batman. Wonder Woman depends on two things- her strength and her wits. I say Kudos to the artist because he portrayed her in a very realistic manner.

I love how in all your work you make the superheros and characters actually have character, emotion, and low and behold facial expressions! Especially Wonder Woman, I've rarely seen her emote so much and so many less than pretty emotions. (Never really seen the comics, I am talking only fan art and such.) Great work!

SO FREAKING GOOD! Buff, and sassy, and expressive, and yessss!
NightKunoichi Featured By Owner Nov 16, 2014
I simply LOVE the way you draw Wonder Woman!  She's buff and powerful in frame and still stunning!  It's a more realistic depiction!  Hell even in your drawings of Super Girl, who is very petite, she is still realistically drawn!  You do such a great job with your proportions and realistic body types!  THANK YOU
MegaKnight2012 Featured By Owner Nov 7, 2014
I do love the variety of Diana's expressions. I don't think she shows this range of emotions even in the comics.

What makes me like this is the fact it has a more-or-less realistic body-form for Diana who, let us remember, is a trained soldier, not a bikini model. It also has just the right mix of seriousness and humour, just like the funny papers! ;)

You draw a mean Wonder Woman, guy!
leafandlightning Featured By Owner Aug 25, 2014
I've always liked your version of Wonder Woman. She looks Strong, in every way worthy of capitalization, yet she is still feminine, and very attractive because she looks like she is supposed to be the way you draw her. It isn't just taking a standard Hollywood type "attractive" woman and slapping muscles on her. She wouldn't look good if that was the case. You gave her a frame and proportions that are meant for those muscles. And you make it clear with her poses and expressions that she is comfortable with how she looks.
