magdalena...or why comic artists are fetishists by nebezial magdalena...or why comic artists are fetishists by nebezial
its quite hilarious how well., most costumes in comics today would just as soon be selling in specialised sex shops as serve their evilfighting purposes XD. and this is practically the case with every superhero comic.evenmore so nowadays when spandey is so last millenium, so...go latex!...but hey....its waterproof...so there is that.

tho honestly...summer nights? how the hell do the heroes keep a straight face while boiling under a costume?... a bit of fast food for your thoughts XD

Look at professional soldiers.   When geared up for killing they tend to all look alike.  Basically form follows function.  Now, if beating up super powered villains, was the sole objective, it would seem to me that the previous rule would tend to apply.  Costumes would focus on enhancing special abilities, protection etc... and apart from that, they would all tend to look alike.

However, when a person decides to be a super hero, they are often doing more then just fighting bad guys, they also want to proclaim how special they are. Thus the flashy "Look at Me" costume.  So, in most cases, super hero's are just seeking to establish a unique identity for themselves.

Take Red Sonja for example.  Most useless and stupid armor ever.  Why does she wear it?  Because she is so bad ass that it doesn't matter what armor she wears, and this is her way of saying "You want this?" "Come get it, if you can!"

I once shamelessly used Mag's costume design for a drow drawing I did. Im not sorry because it turned out awesome. I just wish I knew where I stuck the digital copy of it....lol, but this is one of the best drawings Ive seen of Magdalena. ^^

Oh, WOW!! This is amazing and I love the "costume"... Yes, if I looked as good as this woman does in THAT body-suit, I'd wear the thing 24/7!! Lol!

AMusoke  has a reference to this picture on a piece he's working on so I had to check it out. I'm glad I did because I love to "contrast and compare" on identical pieces from 2 different artist's. I can't wait to see the finished work from AMusoke and because of him I'll be adding you to my watch list :)

Nicely done!!

Could just look like latex but be make out of that stuff they make spill resistant cloth out of. Who knows, the stuff could be cotton covered in some weird super-suit goo and the goo makes it look shiny and second skin like. Just thoughts ^_^
