...but she isn't "really"(rsrs) a vegetable, is she?

Just a almost pure human, crazy (according to some opinions), ecozealot and, of course, misanthrope?
Or is she a true photosynthetic person?
Vertical999 Featured By Owner Aug 17, 2015
Last time I checked, zombies weren't really the philosophical type. I'm sure they'd try to eat a Green Lantern simply because they wear green.
brancorvo Featured By Owner Aug 17, 2015
That's a great idea you just had, Vertical. Philosophical Zombies!

Let's see, one century after Socrates execution all the death Greek philosophers start to raise and walk to Athens, eating the non philosophers in their way. Once there they start a long, long symposium, whit short interruptions for snacks from time to time. And they are still there today.
Living philosophers can go there and enter the debate. But they risk allot, because if they  mistaken themselves for philosophers and are not, they will be snacks for the zombies.

But a get your point, leprechauns and Peter Pan would have a hard time whit this vegans too. I only asked because I wasn't really sure about the girl, it's been some time since I read Batman's comic books and the nature of characters change wen we least expect.

Thanks for the explanation.

We are falling deeper into the Sar Chasm, my friend :)

Ivy's more attuned to something in comics called The Green, the collective consciousness of plant life and the source by which a plant-based metahumans gain their power. Swamp Thing is connected to The Green as well. I suppose in Ivy's case since she still had a body, she could be attuned without turning green herself in some incarnations. If said zombies were attracted to the energy projected by the Green rather than vegetation itself, then she'd be a victim. Of course, those would be pretty specific zombies, so another power would have to be at work.

We are smart aren't we? Maybe not enough to test our luck making a visit to Athena, but still...

I remember the Green, from the Swamp Thing's story. The one were he travel around the World under John Constantine's guidance, take Gotham City, US govern try to kill him using Lex Luthor advice and Swamp Thing end lost in space. Great story! Then Swamp thing came back to Earth thanks to a green lantern who is a vegetable. I think Alan Moore wrote it.

Sometime ago I read DC was doing a dealanmoorefication in Swamp Thing, and thought "it's a shame!". Little after that a saw a quite dumb story painting the   Parliament of Trees as naive fossils to make apology to that old "romantic love conquer everything" cliche . REALLY a shame!

But I admit, must be hard to keep the plots Alan Moore level. Show humans as some special more pure and important form of live and show our cultural bias as the universal omnipotent force must be much easier.
Vertical999 Featured By Owner Aug 18, 2015
Moore is a very talented writer. He wrote 3 of the most well known graphic novels: The Killing Joke, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and many more.
brancorvo Featured By Owner Aug 18, 2015
Killing Joke I didn't read yet. Other two I did, saw the moves too. Both have been killed by move directors.

But I believe they only could have done a little better Watchmen. Because V for Vendetta is just too dense to became a decent commercial  move, only way to don't make a terrible work in this case would be don't even start.

But, of course, there is many other great comic book writers working in USA. I don't want to see all art there reduced to just one old fellow and his personal mythology, no matter how nice it is.  I just like his less 'speciesist' approach for the Swamp Thing. AND, of course the anti etno-centric wisdom beautifully put as that poem he gave to a old tree: "Onde está o mal na mata?"  ( "Where is the evil in the forest?", I believe)
Vertical999 Featured By Owner Aug 19, 2015
I highly recommend it. It isn't one of the greatest Batman graphic novels of all time for nothing.

Eh, Watchmen was okay. It was as good an adaptation of the comic without creating a 6 hour film or separating it into a trilogy.

Oh believe me, I know there's gems everywhere. Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, many others (Lazy with my lists, I know).

There is something about your linework that is very neat.  What are your primary tools in this?
