I love the range of expressions here. That’s some delightful contrast. I also think the dynamics of the hair getting blown around is delicious! The best part, though? The flowy, word-infused magicy stuff! Mmmm.
Anyway people complaining about romance, Mr. Sejic is pretty capable of handling this. I do not think one bit he'll make this some whiny teen romance. Like he stated in the interview he wanted to make this a believable fantasy with believable characters, it's not all romance. I bet it has plenty of other things such as action, adventure, and rich storytelling. So get over there being some romance, life is life, you can't change it.
So thank you, sir for releasing your amazing works and you definitely have a paying customer right here on February 13th, 2013.
Thats life, this is a comic with magic and dragons. I just get tired when all movie/stories turn into love stories. I enjoy when the characters are more focused around a good story or consistent actions.
Thats why i liked the WitchBlade series so much. Neither Sarah nor Jackie's stories have a long term love story (there lovers died).
I was hoping this would be more Lord of The Rings styled, journey, adventure, no significantly important romance :/ oh well. your choice in the end. Its still gold, im just a bit tired of romances in these adventure stories and comics...
see for me fantasy is about having believable characters with their virtues and flaws, friendships and loves... and then drop a clusterfuck of a shitstorm of epic proportions on them. ravine is not a romance, but it is not lord of the rings neither. ravine is ravine.
it s epic, but it has friendships, romances, rivalries. and it has all of that tested by a threat that will make lotr seem tame in comparison. love, relationships, they motivate ones actions be it to protect those you love or avenge them, they can be used to control and manipulate people, but also to empower them.
i understand your point of view well. recent years were very shitty in their handling of this stuff.
trust me i actually know how to write compelling characters... this aint no twilight
there is a reason why my initial and repeated reply is... it's life. this story contains romances, between several characters, but like anything else in life, that is just one part of the overall experience, this is a full blooded fantasy story.
she turns and looks at the man desperatly needing a haircut "well actually i cant ,, these are just spiney word things, but they look nice don't they, i like the way they make my hair go FLOOSH in the wind"
