Hoooooly CRAP this is beautiful, everything looks so real, Khedira and Khazran's skin looks so soft and there's so much emotion in their eyes

What did you use to paint this? It almost looks like CGI :0

you ever watched/read magi? those crows are similar to the black rukh

nope. never seen it never heard of it.

crows are shards of the slain. whenever someone is killed in the world of ravine their remaining lifespan leaves their body. a part of it latches itself to the killer as a blood stain would on the killers sword... but you cant wipe off a crow. it is a permanent brand of a murderer.

in ravine there are basically  2 forces. necra and  maga .  necra is all matter, effectively the atomic composition of the universe around us. maga is the lifeforce. maga can be divided to dally, renewable maga that is basically the energy you get from burning calories and resting (an old roleplaying games trait like dungeons and dragons, nothing really new XD ), and the permanent one. a persons life span

magic in ravine is created when a caster uses their maga(lifeforce) to manipulate their environment on a molecular basis.  he does so by chanelling and weaving the spell through a caster weapon with an engraved spiral. effectively using lifeforce to agitate matter

an unskilled mage can spend his or her lifespan in a single battle  a skilled one may live a full  life .. it is a matter of practice.

all of this is something you see in many fantasy series, cause lets face it after a certain point we are all retreading the same territory

there are however necrytes. aberrations   from the forgotten times. they can cast spells to their hearts content. something about their lifeforce makes it   capable of not binding with necra fully. instead , at the moment the spell is formed, the lifeforce returns to the necryte. this gies themthe ability to cast spells as much as they want , but it also makes them incapable of aiming spells. making them  a very lonely breed. it is said that a necrte cannot protect anyone. they can oly destroy. teir lack of fine  control  over their spellwork even disables them from using a shield spell over anyone but themselves. they are a selfish often insane kid, and are usually connected with terrible deeds

thats really similar to Magi's rukh, even if you haven't heard of magi.
rukh is related to fate though, black for those who rebel against fate.

wanna now the secret to fantasy?..we are all kinda doing the same thing.  you will find most of this in an given fantasy book that rukh thing is your average iteration of lifeforce and or soul... and that has been done many times  too. hell, after googling that thing, it is a mix of aladdin and other fantasies it seems, and that's all right. if it is done well and presents an iteresting story thats fine with me :)

see in writing , to some extent we all use certain tropes. archetypes that breed familiarity and bring new worlds a little bit closer to the reader through familiarity. otherwise we would have to derail the story every two steps to over explain every little thing.

ultimately its all just fanciful decoration , a polish on the world we create. what truly matters in the end are the characters and the story :)

I wonder are you going to show others twenty-three Khans? I really like Shivas and I imagine the Harakkhan as a hell of a squad. Also I'm curious about Khazran(right? That is his name or a rank?).He is always(at least now) shown with his staff.Does he need it because he is old and can't walk without it normally or because he is sick?

Does you-know-who realize that shivas can see that aspect of him? I would think that would make him a bit reluctant to go into crowded areas if there was this giant kill list floating above his head. And are shivas just naturally smarter than humans? I would think that after so many years, at least one shiva would cross his path and totally freak.

oh he knows. but shivas are a mercenary nation... and smart enough to recognize a losing battle. and you guessed very correctly on the you know who XD  being reluctant to be in the cities...also i love that you asked this. once book 2 is out, pay attention ft the crowd in the city...

AAAHH, so those are what crows look like, in my head i kept picturing them as like tattoos. black marks that permanently mark the killer, but this is just so much more interesting, and so much cooler!

I love Khedira's expressive face.  Is Khedira male or female?  The name and the way she speaks... at least to me... suggest it's a her.

Hah! You won't believe this. I've been watching you for your art for quite awhile, didn't know about Ravine though. I ended up picking it up in a comic book store a couple days ago, reading it, loving it and then finding out I'm already watching you! Keep up the good work bro. You inspire me... to do awful artwork not nearly as good as yours. 8D <3

I picture you receiving food intravenously while you work during the week, because how in the hell do you do so much in so little time.  Also your work is amazing and I wouldn't be picturing you hooked up to life tubes if it wasn't.

Also tell me your secrets.  I feel like the slowest artist in the world.
