Enemies still don't know, that she hide such a strong...smell weapon! She just don't wash under her arms Stink from there was so strong that corroded the armor which fall off, and now we have armpits ;D
Read the first line and instantly weirded out for a moment before I remembered, "Oh yes, other people are named Arianna, and they actually spell it the same way too." Although that's the first time I've encountered it spelled the same way, ahaha.
The Romans(who to me set the standard on EVERYTHING)protected the body and the head and covered the rest with the shield. Full plate armor during the middle ages evolved into something only useful against other knights or unarmed, untrained peasants. English victories during the 100 year war were mainly because French knights rode into mud and allowed themselves to be massacred. English longbows were actually useless against armor, it was just that the HORSES didn't wear armor.
So, armor is a pain in the butt ALWAYS and you are better off avoiding being hit than trusting on it. Because the things you meet in a D&D world are WAY too much for any armor you can actually fight on.
you will understand later on , (well depending whether or not you read the comic that is XD )why whe had this done to hers.
it has to do with the facts that the first time she put it on, she was about seventeen, she wanted it to be more comfortable to lean in the dragon's saddle... and wanted the freedom to move her hands completely. also it was times of peace so comfort was morre important to her than being a fortress... ah teens....
now yhe is twenty six, and times of war approach... time to SUIT UP! XD
I bought volume one~! It's one of the best comics I've ever picked up! And while I do love witchblade/artifacts - I love this kind of high fantasy comic so thank you so much for making it! I can't even imagine how much work goes into something like this and I'm eagerly awaiting the next issue!
lol, mystery solved... i always thought it was both a good and a bad decision to have armpit holes on armor* cause damn right, it IS uncomfortable to have chainmail folds there... and it makes a good ventilation! but then again, the armpits are kinda one of the most vulnerable places on the human body... let's hope she's a skilled fighter and knows not to raise her arms when there are archers around. xD
*actually, i think it's a good idea even for normal clothing.
