It's the parents' fault I think!
It never crossed their minds!
If your last name is McEvil... Change it! Don't go naming the kid Sinister or Gargan... and please don't encourage him to go into medicine! Simple advices that would avert the disaster of Dr. Sinister McEvil!

Birth Announcement: Mr. & Mrs. Jones would like to welcome their son, Thaal Sinestro, into the world as of August 1961. Sinestro will no doubt take after his father who is the veterinarian that single-handedly saved all the Pandas from extinction, volunteers at homeless shelters 4 times a week, and was actually sainted last week, or his mother who has recently refused to ascend into a higher plane of existence to help other achieve nirvana on Earth.
