you wanna get good....then don't be a hater!okay so here is a tip
i have seen in my life many artists who proclaimed they want to develop their skills, and kept bashing on everyone and everything on the way....and for some reason those guys never got anywhere...
here is why..
there is a value to different approaches, different styles. realism, manga , cartooney disney, my little pony, furries....don't waste your time tryint to bash any of the stuff you don't personally like
you are missing out, bigtime!
see there is a reason why that stuff is popular. and by that i mean on the visual side. so instead of flaming , trolling and bashing, try understanding the inner workings of it.
here are some specific examples
realism- it is a wonderfully complex base , reflects one's skill in capturing reality, but in it there are differences between photo referenced, real life work and no reference. ALL HAVE THEIR VALUE AND IMPORTANCE! from photos you can learn alot, gain analytic skills, develop an attention to

okay, so after a swarm of questions many of which left me with my jaw on the floor... i realized something...
people are afraid of pushing a button to see what it does
okay, to backtrack first. i am self taught in photoshop, had no books had no tutorials, had a borrowed i think 7... dunno which was before cs2 when i started, i learned it by ....pressing a button and seeing what it does
i explored, i tried stuff out.
i had no teachers no schools no education on this stuff
i saw a button i pressed it.
that is how about 9 years ago when i first decided to try and apply digital coloring to early pages of ravine, i was dabbing paint on a page. i came to the point where i had to paint a waterfall. so , just for fun i tried putting scattering on the foam brush i made, a simple thing. and i was gonna see if smudge could be scattered. it had a weird side effect.

so... the method of workmany have been curious about my work method.
well to fully grasp that i must first explain my personal origins
1 i was a traditional painter and drawer?...that doesnt sound right...

2 i was a traditional sculptor..alas photos of that stuff mostly got lost

i practiced abour 17 yeears now to get this bunch of mostly self taught techniques to work
most of my stuff is a digital painting now, made or drawn in photoshop cs3. never switched higher as cs3 satisfied all my photoshoppin needs
i used to do quite a bit of modelling in 3d studio max, but it was too technical of a program so eventually i gave it up and completely switched to zbrush as it provided me with excellent set of organinc modelling and texturing tools
aand some of that

and this is how you make a brush XDokay, so next week i will have actual video tuts of my own with audio showing some brush tips, but till then...

my current philosophy...if i wanna draw something , i draw it.. if it creatively itches, i scratch immediately....

dumb thought of the dayevery now and then i get these stupid ideas.
so here is the latest one...if gravity affects time, meaning stronger the gravity, more time is affected. and if the presumption is true that strong enough gravity can stop time..within a black hole
black hole has the mass of the collapsed star.... so... just before big bang we had all the cosmos compressed in a singular point with immeasurable mass, right?
that would mean that it is a ... sort of a non state point... a non event since time is in effective stasis.. space and time compressed in a singular point.
so an event has to transpire that was superior to all those 4 dimensions....
above time and space...
either this proves there is a God... or...doctor who is actually real!!!!!
yeah.... my mind is silly like that XD

advice on some stuff to look up before tutorialsso im gonna be starting to make some tutorials soon
before that you should look up some informations
you probably noticed that in my work it is often hard to distinguish if im using a zbrush model or just painined it all in photoshop
reason for that is simple.
my realism rendering is greatly based on 3 d rendering processes.
by this i mean as i learned 3d i became aware of the stuff we usually visually take for granted.
qualities of material, importance of reflectivity, ambient occlusion, and subsurface scattering.
to any 3d  artist these are everyday terms, while 2d artists usually paint them without often even being aware of wheat they are really doing
for instance , a 3d artist will at any given point use 2 types of shadows. cast shadows from a direct lightsource, and ambient occlusion shadows which naturally appear  more intensively  the closer planes of an object are together.
i can get into this  and make it a long discussion , but easier w

happy new year and thanks :)well finally i have ended chapter 1 and im glad to leave it behind in 2012.
This year was good and bad for me in equal amounts, I had 2 deaths in the family and for awhile I was coping with loss in any way I could. I owe alot to my husband and my friends for being there for me when i was really down.
This was also the time i started working on this comic,
mostly thanks to my husband who drew a picture for me, which inspired to the point i made sketches of the characters that were just doing random fun stuff. then those sketches turned it longer and longer strips and the story started forming.
this comic made me convert all the bad energy I had into something good that filed me with tons of positive energy. I would draw from the moment I woke up till the moment I went to sleep. I wanted to see in what kind of funny situations i can put my characters in and then have them face consequences later.
Then came a point when my husband pleaded me to start posting those strips

a stupid thought about the hobbita stupid thought... given the implied size of smaug in the hobbit movie... i cant help but to wonder.. is he made of ..like...pudding? see reason why i am wondering this is, either bard in the end shoots his one shot kill arrow out of a missile launcher.. or smaug is made of pudding

Sucker PunchI watched this on Blu-Ray yesterday. It's an action film that aspires to be nothing more than an action film. I say this as a positive, having watched The Bourne Legacy earlier in the day and being disappointed by how much time was wasted with the background story. It's an action film based on a cliche action movie formula-- what was there to explain???
Sucker Punch dispenses with any pretentiousness for most of its run time. The background story is bizarre and short and walks us right into the action with little delay. The action is just as bizarre, a anime-inspired video game come to life. The movie doesn't even have to wink at us or apologize for being an action film. It is what it is, that is enough to make it a highly entertaining film, once you turn your brain off.
But the attempt to wrap up the story goes awry at the end, for two reasons:
1- The movie doesn't bother with character developm

imma keep this one simple....

style is just how the artist feels like treating his or her world at any given time!

it is influenced by the styles of other artists the artist admires

it is an amalgamation of influences mixed with personal sensibility....

it is perpetually changing and evolving

and it is not a trademarked property

see, i personally am a mix of influences from michael turner , adam hughes, marc silvestri, alex ross a few concept artist, and my design is greatly influenced by stan winston studio

my cartoonyer style is influenced greatly by disney and don bluth with a dash of manga and a healthy dose of j scott campbell who can probably tell you a similar story about the origins of his own style

its the nature of humanity people.

we stand on each others shoulders striving for greatness. so too will i influence quite a few artists who will adapt my own approaches into their workflow.

also.... i'm batman!
